As a designated mayoral development zone, Atom Valley will receive support from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to establish strategic frameworks and secure additional investment.
Endorsed by Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, this will help local authorities and regional stakeholders to work together and accelerate the process of levelling up. The mayoral development zone will also ensure joined-up thinking and integrated decision making that’s aligned with Greater Manchester’s wider vision.
Made up of representatives from the public and private sector, the Atom Valley board will refine the business case and develop its strategy, overseeing the delivery of growth across Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Greater Manchester.
